Where it started
Honeyspot was founded in 1997 by Rahat Chaudhry. The first location was a closed-down, boarded-up garage at 245 Honeyspot Road in Stratford, Connecticut — and the road gave the company its name.
The early days were hard. Traffic was light and the store struggled. Rahat built the business the only way he knew how: one customer at a time, with excellent service, genuine friendliness and a smile. Slowly, those customers became regulars.
Every dollar earned went back into the store, improving it wood and nail at a time for the community it served. The original garage and store were expanded, two more pumps were added, and the site was renovated several times over.
There were serious setbacks along the way, including being robbed several times. Rahat kept going. Those years shaped the values that every Honeyspot location is built on today.
